The Oprah Effect and Why Every Marketer Needs an iPhone

That’s the total number of Apple iPhones sold to date. An astonishing 13 Million iPhones and that number is growing exponentially each day. If you could get your product in front of that many people, that’s what I call the “Oprah Effect” for iPhones.

That’s also what I call potentially life changing success for your business.
Keep reading and I’ll explain in more detail how you might be one of the very few lucky individuals I’ll be picking to get their products in front of iPhone users.

But first, let me tell you 9 amazing reasons why I believe every internet marketer and potentially every tech-savvy business owner should immediately go out and purchase an iPhone Today.

As a recent Apple convert and a very recent iPhone owner; I’ve had my iPhone for about 3 weeks now, since the new 3GS came out in the U.S. I’m convinced; the iPhone is a MUST-HAVE Internet and Business Marketing Masterpiece.

I’ve owned several smart phones in the past and I also currently have a Blackberry 8830. I’ve owned HP Mobile iPAQs, Treos, Blackberries, and numerous other “smart” phones. And now I own the Apple iPhone and will never look back.

Here are 9 amazing reasons why the new iPhone 3GS blows all other “smart phones” out of the water and why you need one for your business.

1) The easy one – it’s a brilliant video iPod. Have an iPod, or maybe a couple – toss them. You don’t need them any more. The new 3GS has 32GB and can store thousands upon thousands of songs no problem. Download every work by Michael Jackson or load MJ’s “Thriller” video and every other Michael Jackson video for that matter and be on your way. Enough said on that. It’s simple and it’s brilliant.

2) Web Browsing – THANK YOU Apple. Finally someone gets that intelligent marketers and business owners can not be disconnected from the Internet. We live on the Internet and the iPhone delivers “REAL” Internet browsing. I’ve tried browsing the Internet on other so-called “mobile devices.” Nothing compares. The iPhone delivers the best experience, hands down.

3) Internet Mail integrated perfectly. Unless you’ve used the Mail application on the new iPhone, I just can’t give it justice here. It integrates perfectly with Google Mail, Yahoo, Hotmail, etc. Email access any time, anywhere – perfectly.

4) Social Media Marketing as they were intended. This is probably hands down one of the top features for active marketers. Fully and perfectly integrated Facebook and Twitter access. Receive communications, and send communications to your user base and clients any time, anywhere. Love Twitter but don’t like typing on small keyboards – no problem. Load TweetMic and speak your Tweets. It’s an Internet and Savvy Marketer’s dream device. If you’re not using Twitter and Facebook to market your business, you’re leaving serious money on the table, period. 5) Another one of the top features of the iPhone is the shear magnitude of the number and types of applications you can load onto the phone. I love to stay politically active. So I loaded all the major U.S. Historical documents like our Constitution and Declaration of Independence right onto my phone. Yep – there’s an application of historical documents. I also loaded bios of all U.S. Presidents, the entire U.S. Congress and Senate including all their contact information. For the sports car enthusiast, I even loaded a Heads Up Display HUD application that shows my acceleration, speed and relative red light cameras across North America. I could go on and on here. There are thousands of applications available.

By the way – keep reading because I’ll explain per above how you can capitalize on those applications to grow your business.

6) Top notch 3MP camera including video capabilities with built-in video editing.

7) It’s a portable gaming device. Don’t believe me. Try loading the new “Terminator Salvation” Game and tell me if you don’t get sucked into playing that thing in all your spare time.

Excellent voice controls. Not only can you speak the name you want to call or the number you want dialed and the new iPhone will understand you completely, you can also speak your iPod instructions. Want to hear Michael Jackson’s Greatest Hits – just say Play Michael Jackson’s Greatest Hits and your iPhone loads the playlist and begins playing as instructed.

9) Lastly, what can I say….. the new iPhone 3GS offers and easy to use interface that only Apple could deliver.
Well, after this post, I should probably apply for a sales position for Apple. Seriously, if you’re serious about marketing your business online, it’s amazing what the new iPhone 3GS can achieve.

How Many Loyal Customers Does it Take to Generate $100K in Online Sales Per Year?

So how many loyal customers does it actually take to generate that all illusive $100K in online sales per year?

Now before I get a bunch of emails saying, “Well I sell a product that costs roughly $500 dollars so I obviously won’t need as many customers to generate that $100K per year.”

If only it were that easy…

All things being relatively equal, the item price really doesn’t matter a whole lot.

Now, of course you need to sell a whole lot more $19.00 dollar products (about 5263 actually) to generate $100K in revenue versus a $500 or $1000 dollar product.

But my guess is you’ll find a whole lot more customers for that $19 product than say for that $500 dollar product – but hey – just approximating here for conversation’s sake…

What matters most are the typical conversion rates – meaning…

What is the rate of conversion between people visiting your website and the number of people who actually purchase something from you?

So back to my original statement about that magic number…

So what exactly is a loyal customer?

Well, for my business, I classify a loyal customer as anyone who routinely visits my site, subscribes to my content, reads my articles and blog posts, downloads my free content when available and generally simply remains interested in what I have to say.

So that is how I define a loyal customer. To me, a customer does not necessarily have to be a paying customer. They just have to have subscribed to any of my content lists.

So finally…

What is that magic number – how many loyal customers do you need to generate roughly $100K per year in online revenue?

Well, ask any Internet Marketer out there what the magic number is and they’ll likely give you a very similar answer.

You need about 1,000 local customers or subscribers tuning in each week to hear what you have to say and to read about your latest product offerings.

So let that act as a gauge if you will on where you may stand in regard to making that illustrious $100K annual revenue level in online sales.

Internet Home Business Secrets – Part 2 – Is Email Marketing Dead?

Quite the contrary…..

As you may have learned by now, e-mail marketing is one of the most important aspects of online-sales when done respectfully and ethically. Tips for success include using appropriate e-mail etiquette at all times.

Not paying attention to the above can mean brilliant success or the ultimate death of your Internet home-based business.

Format lines in e-mail to wrap at around 65 characters or less which helps prevent eye fatigue, and makes reading your e-mails much easier on your reader.
Using All caps is the equivalent of yelling in an e-mail. An entire e-mail written in all caps turns people off.
Be sure that there are no grammatical errors in your e-mails. Mistakes make your reader instantly question the credibility of your company.
Remember that an e-mail is the first thing most clients view from your company. Make sure that you create a good impression. And in email, the first impression is always visual — a consumer Looks/sees, before he/she reads.
Don’t use color fonts in your message. Do use Black text on a White background. When you “speak” in black-and-white, people will give their full attention to your message without being distracted by your color scheme.
Don’t use uncommon fonts, if your addressee doesn’t recognize the font you are using they could just see gibberish instead of your message.
Don’t use flashing buttons or banners in your e-mails.
ALWAYS USE SIGNATURE TAGS. Today, it’s common practice on the Internet to tell people about your product or service with a SIGNATURE TAG, which is 3-6 lines of text (usually) that is automatically added to every message you send. You can see my signature tag below. It’s a great way to soft-sell additional products or services.
Remember to use email respectfully and ethically. Never use techniques such as spam to try and get your message across. You’re sure to lose clients that way and possibly lose even more.
